Vice President Kamala Harris stopped in Pittsburgh earlier this afternoon to deliver a speech at Carnegie Mellon University. Harris spoke on the current state of the economy and how she plans to move forward if she wins the 2024 Presidential Election. The Vice President stated that, “The most practical thing we can do right now is to cut taxes for middle class families… 100 million Americans will get a middle class tax break that includes $6,000 for new parents during the first year of their child’s life.” Harris also used her time on stage to call out her opponent, “Donald Trump has no intention of lowering costs for the middle class. In fact, his economic agenda would actually raise prices.” As the afternoon went on, a small group of protestors chanted in support of Palestine outside the Purnell Center for the Arts, where Harris was speaking.
