Translation and migration are the topics of interest at this reading at Alphabet City, featuring writers Nathalie Handal and Angie Cruz. Handal will read from her new book of poetry, Life In A Country Album: Poems by Nathalie Handal which focuses on "borders and citizenship, hybrid identities and home, freedom and pleasure"; Cruz from her novel Dominicana, a coming-of-age story about a young woman from the Dominican Republic who finds herself unexpectedly living in New York City in the mid 1960s with a husband living one thousand miles away. A conversation will follow the readings.
