Opportunity: task force looking at city's nonprofits seeks members

Posted By on Thu, Dec 13, 2012 at 3:37 PM

Should Pittsburgh nonprofits pay local taxes?

The long-running debate will get another airing by a new task force, the Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority's Nonprofit Sector Support Task Force.

The goal? "To review, study, benchmark, develop and submit a written proposal to the City and the ICA regarding the level, length, and form of support from the nonprofit sector to the City of Pittsburgh." A report is expected by the end of June 2013.

If you'd like to be part of the conversation, the city is accepting applications for the board, which is being created as a condition of the ICA's approval of the city's 2013 budget proposal. The deadline to apply is Dec. 21.

Applications can be submitted via email to [email protected] or mailed to:

Nonprofit Sector Support Task Force
Room 526, City County Building
414 Grant Street
Pittsburgh, PA 15219

Include your name and a brief narrative about why you want to serve on the task force.
