This year, in recognition of Black History Month, the City of Pittsburgh honored leaders who are shaping the future leaders of tomorrow.

The Pittsburgh Legacy of Leaders: Laying the Groundwork for our Future Leaders exhibit showcases the accomplishments of four young African Americans: James Brown, director of the YWCA Lighthouse Project; Tamasia Johnson, president and founder of The Pearl Club; Alichia Parker, president and founder of A Par Education, LLC; and Ryan Scott, co-director of the Black Male Leadership Development Institute.

A ceremony was held at the City-County Building on Feb. 4 where Mayor Bill Peduto, Councilman Corey O'Conner, and Jim Griffin, director of the Department of Parks & Recreation presented the honorees with awards.

A showcase of the leaders' work will be on display all month.
